Walking through the streets of Notting Hill last weekend, the pristinely-painted white homes, Porsches and Ferraris took a back stage to the throb of Caribbean music. The streets were host to an estimated one million people and we were in the thick of it, walking towards collections of crazy dancers, jerk chicken stands and stereo speakers shaking with vibration....

"When is a beach not a beach?" I asked myself as I stood on the pile of pebbles known as Brighton Beach. Admittedly, I didn't expect to find my idea of paradise in the seaside Sussex destination. I had been more than fairly warned about the lack of sand and the fact you can never really trust the weather, even on a seemingly sunny day....

We are on the high streets of Newquay, Cornwall where down below the sea is a sickly grey and the weather surrounding it is so grim, there's no telling where the sky ends and the ocean begins....

It could be said that most streets in London occasionally resemble freak shows but there's one street in particular which always looks like the circus is in town - the street featuring both the London Dungeons and the Tower of London....

There's a couple lying on a gentle slope opposite the Stonehenge circle and they're kissing like crazy people, entangled in each other as if the rest of the world has disappeared....
