Marlborough can be reached by road, rail, sea or air. The region's central location makes it easy to add to any itinerary. While you'll find it convenient to have a car, local shuttle and taxi services are very efficient. If you decide to do a winery tour, you'll find it more relaxing to let someone else do the driving. Getting to and from Marlborough

By Air:
Domestic airlines operate scheduled services in and out of Marlborough several times a day, with flights every hour from around 7am to 9pm. The region has two commercial airports: the main airport is located just 10 minutes west of Blenheim at Woodbourne; Picton Airport is located at Koromiko on SH1.
By Road:
State Highway 1 runs through Blenheim, Marlborough's main centre. The highway links to the inter-island ferry service at Picton. You can also approach Marlborough from the west on State Highway 6. State Highway 63 leads from Blenheim up to the Nelson Lakes National Park.
By Sea:
Two ferry operators transport passengers and vehicles across Cook Strait between Picton and Wellington.
By Rail:
The Tranz Scenic rail service operates between Picton and Christchurch, travelling via Blenheim and Kaikoura.
