Belfast

Belfast was transformed by the Industrial Revolution, and its grand public buildings give it a vigorous, 19th-century feel. Investment in recent years combined with the optimism engendered by the peace process have restaurants, cafes and pubs flourishing with craic to burn.

Belfast Health and Safety

Aside from a recommendation to avoid 'interface areas' - near the Peace Lines in West Belfast Crumlin Rd and the Short Strand - after dark, there is little else to cause concern in Belfast. Indeed, it may well be the abundant security that causes the most irritation for some. A general respect for people and their beliefs is all that is needed; ask for permission if you wish to photograph someone and generally avoid religious or political arguments.
