Sarasota

Sarasota is an affluent community with lots of beaches and lots of art. Its showpiece is the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, the largest museum/university complex in the nation - all built with the millions of circus baron John Ringling.

Coming and Going

The Sarasota-Bradenton Airport is served by several major airlines. A Greyhound bus station serves the area, and an Amtrack shuttle bus service, runs between Main Street and the Tampa station. Highways are plentiful; cars can be rented from the airport.

Getting About

Sarasota County Area Transit operates cheap (0.50) area buses throughout the city. The Sarasota Trolley operates two lines to main tourist destinations around town.

Parking's a snap, driving's a breeze and the streets are pretty safe.
