If home is where the heart is then I've left mine on a sandy West Auckland beach. But as they say, the grass is always greener... so I've moved with my partner to the other side of world to settle in West London.
It's a big change, but a pretty exciting one. Where else in the world can Kiwis fit into a like-minded, English-speaking society and spend weekends jet-setting to European cities at the drop of a hat? Okay, so the reality of life in the UK is sliiightly different, but it’s still a pile of fun.
I've swapped dollars for pounds, Toffee Pops for Hob Nobs, kumara fries for mushy peas (yuck!), gumboots for Wellies, Shorty St for Corrie St and Marmite for a god-awful version of Marmite. I've given up the beautiful New Zealand summers and life in a city where you're never far from the beach.
Let's hope I like this London place. If you want to join me on this adventure, make yourself a nice cuppa tea and settle in. I plan to share all the trials, tribulations and traveling with you.
After all it's a blog, innit?
